Spring Cleaning Guide for Your Room

Spring is the perfect time to refresh your room! Whether you’re staying for the semester or heading home for a break, here are some easy ways to deep clean and declutter your space.

Step 1: Declutter

Go through your desk, drawers, and closet—donate or toss items you don’t use.
Recycle old papers, food wrappers, and unnecessary packaging.
Sort laundry and wash everything that’s been piling up (yes, even that pile in the corner).

Step 2: Dust & Wipe Surfaces

Wipe down your desk, nightstand, and shelves with disinfecting wipes.
Dust electronics like your laptop, TV, and gaming consoles.
Clean mirrors and windows with glass cleaner or vinegar and water.

Step 3: Floors & Furniture

Vacuum or sweep your room.
Shake out rugs outside and wash them if possible.
Carefully move furniture to clean under your bed, dresser, or desk.

Step 4: Bathroom (If Applicable)

Scrub the sink, toilet, and shower with cleaning products.
Throw out empty shampoo bottles and expired toiletries.
Replace your toothbrush and wash any makeup brushes.

Step 5: Clean out Your Fridge & Microwaves

Toss expired food from your fridge and food drawers/storage. Please dump out liquids in your sink before throwing away items. Make sure to rinse out your sink after dumping other liquids besides water down the drain.
Wipe down the fridge shelves and microwave.
Wash any dirty dishes and take out the trash.
